A partial settlement has been reached in a civil case involving the death of a 13-year-old boy in who was run over by a school bus.

Brandon Pippenger was killed Dec. 5, 2005, when he was run over by the wheels of a school bus after leaving home to catch the bus to school. The accident occurred at the corner of Bob-O-Link Avenue and Meadow Lark Lane in Wausau.

Marathon County Circuit Court Judge Greg Huber approved a $50,000 settlement today for Pippenger’s 13-year-old brother who witnessed the accident. The Pippengers’ attorney, Christine Bremer Muggli, said the boy suffered distress after seeing his brother’s injuries and needed counseling afterwards.
